There is good news for the residents of Gurugram. The Haryana government has approved a project worth ₹6,821.13 crore for the extension of the Rapid Metro Rail from HUDA City Center to various locations. The total length of this corridor is approximately 28.80 kilometers and includes 27 elevated stations with six interchange stations. This link will start from HUDA City Center and pass through Sector 45, Cyber Park, District Shopping Center, Sector 47, Subhash Chowk, Sector 48, Sector 72A, Hero Honda Chowk, Udyog Vihar Phase 6, and Sectors 3, 4, 5, 7, 9, 10, 37, Basai Village, Ashok Vihar, Bajghera Road, Palam Vihar Extension, Palam Vihar, Sector 23A, Sector 22, Udyog Vihar Phase 4, and Udyog Vihar Phase 5, finally connecting with the existing Rapid Metro Rail Gurugram network at the Moulsari Avenue station near Cyber City.
This Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) project will benefit most parts of Gurugram city. It will connect with the MRTS corridor at Subhash Chowk, with the bus stand at Sector 10, the railway station at Sector 5, and the Rapid Metro at Moulsari Avenue Station. At Subhash Chowk, the MRTS corridor will link with the Yellow Line at HUDA City Center, providing direct connectivity to a large part of Gurugram with Delhi. It will also connect with the RRTS stations at Hero Honda Chowk and Sector 22, offering connectivity towards Sarai Kale Khan (SKK) in New Delhi and towards Shahjahanpur, Neemrana, and Behror (SNB) in Rajasthan. This project will help reduce vehicular traffic and congestion on the roads in Gurugram.
